Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are set to clash once again at UFC 264

Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier will go ahead in Las Vegas on July 10, UFC president Dana White has confirmed.

Afterward, Poirier was positioned for a shot at the championship (he’s currently number one on the

Poirier destroyed McGregor with fierce leg kicks and punches to win the rematch and set up a hugely intriguing third fight.

The two are slated to meet once again as the headline bout to UFC 264 but there has been some confusion over the bout following a stunning expletive-laden rant on social media from McGregor to his rival.

But UFC chief White has since confirmed it will go ahead and here’s everything we know about the fight so far…

McGregor v Poirier 3: Date and start time

The main event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 10 and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Start times have not been confirmed yet but UK fans can expect the headline fight to get under way at around 6am on Sunday morning.

McGregor v Poirier 3: What has been said?

Dana White confirmed the fight date in a video posted on Twitter on Wednesday, April 14.

He said: “I am so happy to finally be able to say: Vegas is back.

“This summer, Las Vegas is back open for business, and on July 10, UFC 264 will be at the T-Mobile Arena at 100-per-cent capacity. Ladies and gentleman, that’s 20,000 fans.

“And this card will be headlined by the third fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.”

Prior to White’s announcement, the fight had been plunged into doubt following a rant from McGregor.

‘The Notorious’ took to social media to hit back at Poirier’s recent claims that the Irishman hadn’t delivered on his vow to donate $500,000 to his charitable organisation – the Good Fight Foundation.

He tweeted: “You’re ripped you inbred hillbilly. Why do you wink with your ears? You f****** brain dead hillbilly. $500k with no plan in place. Ye hang tight. Fool.

“You must be new to money. The fight is off btw. I’m going to fight someone else on the 10th. Good luck on your old contract kid.”

Poirier cheekily responded to McGregor on Twitter simply with the word ‘ok’ along with a GIF of the moment he knocked out his lightweight rival in January.

McGregor responded to that with a gif of his own accompanied with the message ‘see you later pea’, reminding Poirier of the defeat he suffered when the pair first met in the octagon in September 2014.

Responding directly to Poirier’s tweet a day earlier about their donation dispute, McGregor then added: “My team does their due diligence to make sure every donation meets the mark. My generosity is known.

“Good luck when you’re caught. You’re f*****.

“You will pay with your brain for this attempt at smearing my name. Shooting ass shelling ass b****. Little b**** kicks from a shell.”
